About
Where these times come from
Main Event Times (maineventtimes.com) is an independent English-language guide to the start times and official broadcasters of the biggest sporting events, shown in your own time zone. A small team, a lot of time zones, and a rule that every time on the site must come from somewhere official.
Who we are
We built Main Event Times because "what time is the fight here?" should take one look, not five tabs. Each page lists the official broadcasters for every country we could confirm. Some pages carry advertising, and every ad is labelled as one. We are not linked to any league, promoter or broadcaster.
How we check
Dates, venues, cards and fixtures come from the promoter, the league or the broadcaster, and we cross-check them with at least one major sports outlet. Every time is stored once, in universal time, and converted for each region by the site itself. That is how the clock changes in October and November stay right.
Ring walks and some session times are estimates by nature. Those are marked as approximate, and the note under the times says what the estimate is based on. Each event page shows the date we last checked it and links to the sources.
When a time changes, the page changes the same day where we can, and the "updated" line under the title moves with it. A page that only had its sources re-read keeps its old "updated" time and shows the new "checked" date.
How we show changes
When a date, a card, a ground or a broadcaster changes, the event page says so in a dated "What changed" list. The date there is the day the change was announced, with its source, not the day we noticed it. Something a source only reports, with no official word yet, is written as reported.
How the site is paid for
The site carries advertising, and every ad is labelled as one. Advertisers have no say over the times, the broadcasters or the events we list. In a "Where to watch" table the advertiser's row is marked Ad; every other row is the official broadcaster in that country.
Photos
An event page shows a picture of that event: the fighters, the teams, the venue or the official poster, with its source under it. If we cannot be sure a picture shows the right event, the page has none. Competition and sport pages use pictures from Pexels.
